Trainer Spotlight: Tracy Jones

This month we asked Fit Pro, Tracy Jones as to why Kettlebells worked so well for her in her own rehabilitation and fitness journey! Thanks for sharing, Tracy!

If you were to tell me 10 years ago that I would be a Personal Trainer and Kettlebell Coach I would have laughed in your face. At this time I had been diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis in my Low back (specifically L4L5) and had such a week back that at times, walking, going up and down stairs and just everyday routine movement hurt my back. It was an incredibly dark time in my life especially growing up an athlete. Every Doctor told me I needed to strengthen my core through exercise, but every exercise to do that, hurt my back. I felt stuck and completely hopeless.

It sounds cliche, but Kettlebells saved my life! I found Kettlebells about 9 years ago and It was the first exercise modality that I was pain-free during the entire workout. I quickly developed a strong core and strong hamstrings that helped to strengthen my back. I started to be able to do things that felt impossible after my diagnoses.

Kettlebells have become such an important part of my own training but unfortunately, the rehabilitation community is slow to embrace the versatility of this highly effective tool. When done correctly, Kettlebells are one of the best tools for improving stability, strength, mobility, and function and are good for ALL levels, but it’s important to learn proper MEFIT(87of126)technique from a professional.

Kettlebells are an essential part of my training and what I teach today because they offer better results in less time. The time efficiency of training is another huge advantage of kettlebell training, as you can get amazing workouts in a very short time period.

Let me help you in your journey! Whether it’s rehab for an injury, weight loss or overall strength and performance, Kettlebells can be the training tool that gets you to the next level.
