RAINA MILLER
(She/Her)

CLASS INSTRUCTOR
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
Born in California, raised in Colorado, spent 15 years in Texas then packed it all up and came to Portland 7 years ago. The Pacific Northwest has called to my soul since I was very young, it just took me a while to get here.
WHAT MAKES YOUR CLASS SO AWESOME?
With 20 years of experience, multiple certifications, and my own fitness/wellness journey, I bring all of that knowledge and empathy to every class I teach.
WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING STYLE?
Practical! Always explaining that the gym isn’t just an hour a day a few days a week. It’s learning movement patterns and building strength to be healthier, stronger, more mobile & have better balance in everything we do daily.
WHAT QUOTE IS MOST LIKELY TO COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH DURING A CLASS?
“It’ll be fun. Trust me.”
IS THERE A SPECIFIC MOMENT THAT GOT YOU INTO FITNESS? GUSH ABOUT IT PLEASE!
My oldest daughter had a health issue culminating in very traumatic reconstructive surgery, caring for her by myself left me with very high anxiety & irrational fears. In the aftermath, I needed to do something for myself and to manage my anxiety. With no plan, I joined a gym and was talked into an initial package of 6 personal training sessions, those 6 personal training sessions literally changed my life. I fell in love with the gym, weights, fitness, and wellness…I felt like had found my people.
My trainer became my mentor, I became a NASM-certified personal trainer, and went on to own a small gym & training studio with a full schedule of clients, small group classes, and a team of coaches.
WHEN YOU'RE NOT FITNESSING, WHAT ARE YOU UP TO?
Hiking, sewing, reading, and hanging out with the love of my life and our 2 cats.
WHEN YOU'RE FEELING DOWN, WHAT'S ONE THING YOU SAY TO YOURSELF TO GET YOU GOING?
“Aging is a privilege, you better keep moving.”
